James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ Gets Official Synopsis

The official synopsis for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has arrived teasing what Task Force X will be up against in the DC film.

DC fans are understandably eager to see what James Gunn’s been up to with The Suicide Squad, and although there’s still months to go until the film arrives on HBO Max, Warner Bros. has revealed the official synopsis for Task Force X’s next outing. The film radically changes the roster of villains from David Ayer’s 2016 film, with characters like Bloodsport and Peacemaker joining the team.

But the new synopsis for the James Gunn film teases how the huge team will be assembled in Bell Reve before being sent to the fictional DC island of Corto Maltese. The island has popped up a number of times throughout DC’s long comic book history, but executive producer Peter Safran previously explained that the film will see the team destroy secret Nazi experiments. Take a look at The Suicide Squad synopsis below.

“Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone’s favorite pyscho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.”
