23-Year-Old Female Athlete of The Year, Naomi Osaka, Lands New Levi Campaign

Naomi Osaka has hit another major milestone in her career. The 2020 Female Athlete of the Year landed an appearance in a new Levi campaign entitled, Beauty of Becoming.

“I feel that everyone has their experiences that shape them into a person, and no one can take that away from you,” Osaka shares in the campaign video.

Inspiring Many Through The New Levi Campaign

Directed by Oge Egbuonu, the Levi Beauty of Becoming series was launched this month. It features celebrities who share their personal journey of becoming. The powerful campaign video is designed to show others that greatness can be achieved by anyone. It’s built off the idea that no one is born into greatness but it’s through experience, discovery, and self-discovery that you achieve it.

In the three-minute video, Osaka explains what becoming means to her. “It means speaking your mind and speaking on the things that you value.”

Osaka’s Success Story

There is no doubt that this is Osaka’s moment to shine.

The 23-year old is already enjoying a successful career in tennis and racking up deals like the Levi campaign. Osaka was recognized as the top-ranked tennis player by the Women’s Tennis Association. She’s also the first Asian player to hold the top spot in singles.

In 2018, Osaka became the first tennis player born in Japan to win a Grand Slam championship. It’s a victory that the world will always remember because she beat her idol, Serena Williams, at the US Open.

2020 was another record-breaking year for the tennis star. Osaka won her third grand slam title and is now the reigning champion at the US Open. In December, she was selected as the Female Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press. Osaka uses her platform to spark conversation about real issues such as police brutality.

“Not only is she a phenomenal tennis player, but she also demonstrates how athletes have an opportunity to use their platform for something bigger than the game or themselves,” sais Women’s Tennis Association Chairman and CEO Steve Simon to Tennis.com. Her actions are nothing short of inspiring and she is so very deserving of this recognition.”

Osaka also announced that she is the newest House Ambassador for Louis Vuitton. “Funny story: I first bought my mom a LV bag when I was 16 as a birthday present and it’s kinda been a tradition since. Do I call this a full circle moment?,” Osaka shared on Twitter

Osaka accomplished a lot for a 23-year old. But her new Levi campaign will give people the inspiration they need to think about their journey to greatness.  As the tennis star continues to rack up deals with top brands, she also plans to create her own line one day as well. It’s another way that the young star plans to tap into her greatness.
